Job summary

Harris Teeter is seeking a customer-focused store associate to provide excellent service and operate the cash register efficiently. Your role includes greeting customers, handling payments, and ensuring accurate change while maintaining a friendly store environment.

Training will be provided to all associates on cashier skills, safety, and company policies. You will be expected to remain reliable and punctual and to communicate effectively in English with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the highest level of customer service and never be rude to a customer.
• Assist customers with requests and partner with management when needed.
• Accurately operate the cash register and handle funds securely and correctly.
• Greet customers, count change, and thank customers for shopping with us.
• Bag groceries and maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
