Job summary

Allied Universal in Sparks, NV is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for patrol and access control at a technology, media, and telecommunications site. The role focuses on maintaining a visible security presence, responding to incidents, and delivering excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

The position requires at least one year of security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening where required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security observations, incidents, and operational needs.
