Job summary

Allied Universal in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to serve clients across industries including Logistics & Distribution. The role offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform, with pay rate $17.43 per hour.

You will provide customer service, enforce access-control, monitor screening, and respond to incidents, with opportunities for career growth and benefits through Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors and employees while carrying out site procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, packages, and vehicles entering or leaving the distribution location in accordance with screening procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation, and report unusual activity to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, loading areas, parking areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
