Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Screening in Grand Rapids, MI. You will screen employees and visitors, monitor access points, and report security concerns while delivering polite, professional customer service.

As a Screener at a logistics location, you will perform bag checks, patrol assigned areas, and follow site procedures to help ensure a secure environment. This role offers a consistent afternoon/evening schedule and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid are preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel entering the distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
• Inspect packages, bags, and other items as permitted by site policy, and document screening activity, incidents, and irregular conditions.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entry points, loading areas, and the business perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
