Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Columbus, OH. You will provide customer service to visitors and staff, conduct patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents to deter threats and maintain a welcoming environment for cultural institutions and events.

The position offers flexible day/evening shifts on-site with competitive pay and opportunities to advance through training and the Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, park policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout public gathering areas, walkways, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, reporting unusual conditions, property concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Support a welcoming environment for cultural programs, community events, and public activities while maintaining accurate incident and patrol documentation.
