Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Guard in Chicago, IL. The role offers a paid hourly wage and a flexible schedule to fit your availability.

You will protect clients across multiple industries, help maintain safety, and gain access to the Claim a Shift platform for additional role opportunities. The position requires basic security experience and a high school diploma, with background checks and drug screening conducted as per applicable laws.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations to help identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
