Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Flexible in Chicago, IL. This role provides reliable hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts, supporting your path toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

Pay rate is $18.50 per hour with a fixed shift and an Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program that lets you add shifts across multiple sites. Schedule: Tue 12:00 PM – 08:00 PM.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, storefronts, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor for unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations, and report observations according to site procedures.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly, welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized activity and supporting the needs of the retail location.
