Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• A Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and vendors by carrying out access control procedures at a healthcare location.
• Monitor and control access to designated entrances, restricted areas, and visitor points.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor badges and/or access passes, maintain entry records, and direct authorized individuals to areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying site contacts and leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances, access points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
