Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Danbury, CT to provide customer service to personnel, visitors and contractors, monitor access, conduct patrols, and respond to incidents in a calm, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utilities location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility buildings, operational areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.
