Job summary

DK Security is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Michigan to protect client properties and ensure safety across contracts. The role involves customer service, patrols, access control, and reporting incidents, with emphasis on a professional appearance and strong communication.

No prior experience is required, but veterans and those with security or law enforcement backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Shifts Thursday through Saturday; pay is $17/hour, with potential up to 39 hours per week

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• 17(2). (Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work).
• Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060
• Must not have any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, or controlled substances, per MCL 338.1060
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. (70 lbs. for armed work).
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified or willing to become certified.
• Must see clearly at least 20 feet away (with glasses/contacts).
• Must hear conversations in loud environments.
• Must use a smart phone or computer for training and emails.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must be professional with excellent customer service and integrity.
• Must complete trainings on time and adhere to policies.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: reflect the company positively by assisting staff, visitors, and coworkers.
• Observe and Report: stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in lobbies and access areas.
• Security Officer: conduct foot and vehicle patrols as required.
• Access Control: verify IDs and enforce restricted access.
• Safety Patrol: maintain a safe environment and report safety concerns.
• Emergency Response: assist in emergencies and use CPR/First Aid/AED protocols.
• Security Liaison: communicate with client staff and site supervisor.
