Job summary

Securitas US Business Unit in Joliet, IL is seeking a Part Time Security Officer to protect client sites and ensure safety. The role emphasizes customer service, vigilance, and quick response to incidents across various environments.

Responsibilities include access control, patrols, reporting, and collaborating with client staff to meet site goals. The position offers benefits and weekly pay, plus training and advancement potential within a supportive regional structure.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required.
• High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
• Strong computer / technology skills needed.
• 1 year security experience at a truck gate preferred.
• Customer service background preferred.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
• Must have great attention to detail and the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct patrols inside / outside the client’s premises, potentially in various weather conditions and in different types of terrain.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
