Qualifications

• Must have prior law enforcement or related security experience, or at least an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
• Must complete all required training programs satisfactorily, as determined by the Allentown School District.
• Consistent record of satisfactory work performance.
• Clear or acceptable background and clearance checks.

Summary

The Security Officer assists in protecting students, staff, and school property from harm and damage. This is an 11-month position, covering the school year and summer sessions, up to 225 days.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Patrols assigned building, grounds, and halls to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
2. Inspects doors, windows, and gates to ensure security.
3. Confronts unauthorized persons, verifies identification, or calls police as per emergency plan.
4. Responds to security issues as directed by the building administrator.
5. Detects unauthorized persons or vehicles on school grounds and adjacent areas.
6. Prepares and submits reports of incidents and violations.
7. Responds promptly to emergency assistance requests.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
