IOWA SPEEDWAY

Located near Des Moines, Iowa Speedway joined the NASCAR family of tracks in 2013. Known as the "Fastest Short Track on the Planet," Iowa Speedway hosts two major race weekends annually, welcoming the ARCA Menards Series and the NTT INDYCAR Series. The track was designed by NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace.

Summary

Assist in maintaining the safety, security, and orderly operations of Iowa Speedway while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves maintaining a visible security presence, assisting guests with questions about directions and the facility, and providing disabled assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor posts and screen guests for proper tickets and credentials during race weekends.
• Control access to various areas on-site using proper credentials, verbal communication, and physical presence.
• Promote safety by enforcing facility rules and policies.
• Provide excellent customer service by offering information, directions, and answering inquiries.
• Assist with parking management for competitors, owners, race officials, and guests.
• Maintain physical security by patrolling on foot and in Iowa Speedway vehicles.
• Roam grounds on foot and golf carts to assist guests, support co-workers, and respond to calls for assistance.
• Search and screen ticketed guests entering restricted areas for prohibited items and manage crowd control.
• Inspect camping structures upon entry for prohibited items.
• Secure doors and gates at designated times.
• Patrol the property to identify and address unsafe or suspicious behavior.
• Assist with setting up perimeter fencing and barricades.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Some roles may require a valid driver’s license and passing a motor vehicle inspection.

Other Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous security experience preferred but not required.
• Professional appearance, good communication skills, and willingness to work outdoors.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills, including email communication and documentation using approved software.
