Job summary

The Anchorage School District is seeking a Library Media Assistant at STELLER SECONDARY to assist patrons, shelve materials, and manage library inventory. The role includes maintaining the library network and ensuring access to resources for students and staff.

The position runs 9 months per year, 4.5 hours per day, part-time (0.5625 FTE). A high school diploma or equivalent is required; experience with library software is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in a GED program.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire confidence and cooperation of staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public.
• Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a neat and attractive media center, ensuring materials and services are available and accessible.
• Assists library patrons with reference inquiries and access to information.
• Maintains inventory of media center collection including books, textbooks, software, and audio-visual equipment.
• Operates the library network.
