Job summary

The City of Westerville is seeking Seasonal Leaf Crew workers to remove leaves from streets and properties, following a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime may be available as needed, and the season ends in December 2026.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment for the Service Department, and performing related duties in various weather conditions while collaborating with city staff and the public.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of methods, materials, practices and tools to complete tasks.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and work within broad guidelines.
• Ability to work effectively with other City personnel and the public.

Job description

The Seasonal Leaf Crew positions are scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime opportunities available on an as needed basis. The season ends in December 2026.

NATURE OF WORK

(May not include all duties performed.)

• Performs tasks necessary to remove leaves from Westerville streets and property
• Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the City of Westerville Service Department as directed by supervisors
• Carries out additional responsibilities as assigned
• Cleans and maintains equipment and reports problems to supervisor
• This position is required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions
• Performs other related duties as assigned
