Job summary

First Student in Lockport, IL is hiring a part-time School Van Driver to start the day with morning pickups and return students home after classes. No experience is required; training is provided to help you become a safe, professional driver.

Hours are flexible with split AM/PM routes and a guaranteed minimum of 4 hours per day. The role offers a $22.75/hr rate, an opportunity for field trips and events, and benefits including medical and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with summers off.
• Enjoy working with students.
• Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding/unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the vehicle and conduct pre/post-trip inspections.
• Report mechanical issues and keep the vehicle clean and sanitary.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
