Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a School Van Monitor to assist students boarding the bus, remain with them during transit, and ensure safe arrival at destinations. You will support drivers to maintain safe operations and a positive environment for children.

The role offers 20-25 hours weekly with a pay of $18.54 per hour, plus benefits and training; weekend or varied shifts may apply. Training is provided to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to pass a background check including CORI/SORI and drug screen.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with school age children.
• Ability to install car seats and booster seats safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students as they enter and exit the bus and secure them with seat belts.
• Monitor student behavior and provide guidance as needed; report safety issues to management.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers and Van Pool staff using the radio system.
• Follow directions from supervisors and support drivers to keep routes on schedule.
