Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, per HR determination.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record meeting district standards.
• Bus driver experience preferred but not required.
• Adhere to safety practices and regulations in handling chemicals/equipment.
• Follow district/state/national vehicle safety regulations.
• Meet deadlines and schedules reliably.
• Know district bus routes and surrounding area for efficient routing.
• Maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an up-to-date listing of school buses, drivers and aides.
• Ensure access to an up-to-date route sheet for each route.
• Maintain daily attendance roster for drivers and aides.
• Maintain cordial relationships with drivers and aides.
• Demonstrate knowledge of driver and bus aide duties per regulations.
• Ensure drivers clock times accurately and report time changes.
• Operate two-way radio base stations and paging system as required.
• Communicate with staff, parents, and public entities for routine requests or incidents.
• Monitor equipment and maintain records as assigned.
• Process information per guidelines and procedures.
