Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active sworn Chicago Police Officer with 2–3 years CPD experience required.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours) and navigate stairs.
• Familiar with CPS Student Code of Conduct and safety procedures.
• Experience with CPS security technology systems such as cameras and entry screening.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill duties as part of the school’s security plan and remain at the post as directed.
• Respond to incidents and de-escalate conflicts to ensure student and staff safety.
• Patrol grounds and monitor for unauthorized persons; escort from property as needed.
• Prepare incident and misconduct reports in a timely manner.
• Support student safety during entry, dismissal, and crisis situations.
