Job summary

CANBY SD 86 Canby High School in Canby, Oregon seeks a School Psychologist for a 0.5 FTE position starting immediately. The role includes direct student support, consultation with staff, and leadership for special education processes across elementary and secondary settings.

Qualifications

• This role requires knowledge of IDEA and related laws.
• Ability to interpret psychological test results and student data.
• Strong communication with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling, instruction, and mentoring for students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Assess barriers to learning and determine effective instructional strategies.
• Complete psychological, social, behavioral, and other evaluations under IDEA per district policy.
• Prepare reports summarizing assessment results and recommendations for needs.
• Promote wellness and resilience through social skills, problem-solving, and self-regulation.
• Collaborate with families to identify learning/behavior problems and eligibility for special education.
• Collaborate with educators on caseload management and interventions.
• Analyze data with admins for school improvement and safety programs.
• Coordinate service delivery with community providers for transitions.
• Serve as crisis team member and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Case manage and ensure compliance for students considered for eligibility.
• Act as liaison between home, school, and community health agencies.
• Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities for suspected abuse or neglect.
