Job summary

The Cove School in Northbrook, IL is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to support students' participation and learning in the school setting. The role includes direct and small-group therapy, consultation with teachers and families, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include evaluating functional skills, developing IEP goals and accommodations, delivering classroom-based services, and monitoring progress.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current State of Illinois registered occupational therapist licensure; OTR/L.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school, pediatric, or therapeutic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students’ functional needs, including ADLs, self-regulation, sensory processing, and motor skills using formal and informal assessments.
• Translate assessment results into individualized occupational therapy programming and update IEP goals and accommodations.
• Provide individual, small-group, and classroom-based OT services to support participation and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, classroom staff, and families to integrate OT strategies into educational programming.
• Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals through therapy notes and progress reports.
