Job summary

Campbell County Schools in LaFollette, Tennessee, seeks a part-time School Nutrition Cook and Kitchen Staff for LaFollette Elementary School. This role is 4 hours per day in the school cafeteria.

You will read and follow standardized recipes, assist with serving and cleaning, and help maintain inventory while adhering to food safety and HACCP standards. Training is provided for the meal program and software used at checkout.

Qualifications

• Willingness to be trained in food preparation techniques for school settings.
• Should have some basic arithmetic and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Understands and carries out oral and written instructions.
• Maintains work pace appropriate to workload.
• Reads and follows standardized recipes.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of food and non-food items.
• Practices good time management.
• If cashier, attends training for meal collections software and regulations.
• Tests cooked food by tasting and smelling for palatability and flavor.
• Attends scheduled trainings by the manager or supervisor.
• Participates in quarterly safety meetings.
• Follows HACCP and school nutrition board policies.
• Adheres to all district policies and nutrition program regulations.
• Demonstrates teamwork with staff.
• Performs other related tasks as directed by the manager.
