Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island seeks a Part-time Registered Nurse for South County Academy in Exeter, RI. The Nurse will join a multidisciplinary team to provide healthcare services to students and staff and promote wellness in a school setting.

Responsibilities include managing student health needs, responding to emergencies, and developing individualized care plans, with emphasis on culturally competent care and collaboration with families and clinicians.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) and an RN license in RI.
Experience in a residential healthcare setting, preferably in care management.
Experience with children, adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds.
Skilled in operating medical record software and standard office software.
Spanish speaking preferred and compensated.
Excellent multitasking and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Provide healthcare services to students and staff and promote overall wellness.
Lead development and management of individualized care plans; assess behavioral health needs and provide referrals.
Ensure compliance for medication storage and disposal; oversee medical case management for programs.
Prepare and deliver health education curriculum and manage emergencies as needed.
