Job summary

Osceola School District is seeking a Part-time School Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive health services for students, including assessment, screenings, planning, and referrals. The role involves collaborating with families, teachers, and healthcare providers to minimize absences and promote a healthy school environment.

Responsibilities include immunizations, physicals, vision/hearing tests, maintaining records, and supporting IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related science area.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Must meet qualifications of a school nurse as defined in state regulations.
• Successful experiences working with pediatric population desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with health care providers, students' parents and school staff to ensure access to care.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program.
• Conduct immunizations, physical exams, and vision/hearing testing.
• Assess ill or injured students and provide first aid and referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with laws and policies.
• Develop individual health care plans (ICHP) for students as needed.
• Serve on school teams and provide health education to students and staff.
