GENERAL SUMMARY:
Roland Park Country School is seeking a Part-Time School Nurse for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Part-Time School Nurse reports to the Lead School Nurse and is a member of the Student Services Team. This individual works with the team to provide a comprehensive school health services program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services, including prescribed medication administration to students and staff
- Administer over-the-counter medication as per scope of practice as a licensed RN
- Provide for promotion and maintenance of health as well as the prevention of illness and injuries
- Correspond with parents/guardians on health needs of students
- Create and maintain documentation of all encounters, assessments, and interventions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing procedures, assessments, treatments, and techniques.
- Possesses outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a wide variety of contacts including students, parents, administrators, other school personnel, health care providers, and community agencies.
- Requires strong documentation and organization skills to multi-task and maintain electronic health records of students.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment in making decisions.
- Maintains confidentiality of all health-related information.
- Experience with Magnus Health Tracker or similar software.
- Valid driver's license required
WORK CONDITIONS
- This is a part time position with three, 7 hour shifts from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Following an onboarding period with training from Lead School Nurse, the Part Time nurse would be expected to work independently in the school health suite

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE:
In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The salary range for this position is $30-35 per hour. Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience and qualifications.

QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum requirement for the position includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and two (2) years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Valid RN license in the state of Maryland
- Must have and maintain CPR/Basic Life Support certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical agility to sit, stand, kneel, walk, push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, reach overhead and to respond to emergency situations.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, standing, reaching, and bending.
- Physical mobility sufficient to move about office and school for sustained periods of time on hard floors, climb slopes, ascend/descend stairs.
- Ability to occasionally lift 30 plus lbs.
