Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago, Daley College, is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Aide to support the Child Development Center in delivering meals to children in compliance with USDA and Child Care Food Program standards.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and an Illinois Food Handler’s certificate, with 1 year of related experience preferred. Training to obtain a Food Service Manager certificate within 90 days is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Illinois approved Food Handler’s certificate required.
• One year of food services experience preferred.
• Must obtain IL/City of Chicago Food Service Manager certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass IL DCFS Background Check and medical certification for food service worker.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and distributes catered food to classrooms in accordance with USDA/CACFP Meal Patterns.
• Serves food at appropriate temperatures and portions for family style serving.
• Monitors dietary needs and food allergies of children.
• Washes and sanitizes food carts, serving bowls and utensils, and dishes after meals.
• Maintains sanitary kitchen/serving areas and assists with housekeeping duties.
