Job summary

Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 is seeking a Part-Time Cook for the 2025-26 school year. The role involves assisting in food preparation, serving meals, and supporting the breakfast program while following district procedures.

The position requires a high school diploma, basic math and computer skills, and completion of the Illinois Sanitation Certificate within the first year. Experience with school meals and strong communication with students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and sanitation of prep areas, read menus, collect supplies, and operate equipment.
• Assist with breakfast program as needed.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to codes.
• Follow standard operating procedures.
• Assist in daily cleaning of food prep and service areas.
• Interact with Food Services Director, principal, teachers and students.
• Assist with cashier responsibilities as needed.
• Assist in ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and completing daily reports.
• Post lunch deposits to PowerSchool and prepare deposits.
• Interact with building administration, teachers and students.
• May cover Lead Cook when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
