Job summary

Danbury Public Schools in Connecticut is seeking a Kitchen Aide to assist with the preparation and service of nutritious meals for students and staff. You will help with washing, chopping, and meal assembly, while ensuring cleanliness and food safety in all kitchen areas.

This position supports the kitchen team, may substitute for the Kitchen Manager in their absence, and requires adherence to district policies, attendance at staff meetings, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a QFO Certificate, if required.
• Basic math and computation skills.
• Ability to work with individuals of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving school meals.
• Perform routine kitchen duties, including dishwashing and cleanup.
• Support packing meals for off-site service.
• Participate in cleaning of kitchen equipment and storage areas.
• May substitute for Kitchen Manager when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training.
• Follow district policies and health and safety rules.
• Handle allergens and dietary restrictions.
