Job summary

Bethlehem Central School District is seeking a probationary 10-month, 3.75-hour per day Food Service Helper at Hamagrael Elementary School in Delmar, NY. Start date September 2, 2026; schedule is 10:30am–2:15pm when school is in session.

Responsibilities include operating the kitchen, meeting USDA meal program regulations, receiving and inventory tasks, tray-line service, delivering food, salads and desserts, dishwashing, and occasional cashier duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift.
• Lift up to 25 pounds.
• Knowledge of serving food and USDA meal program regulations.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operation and may assist with ordering some food.
• Meet USDA meal program regulations.
• Handling receiving and inventory tasks.
• Serve on tray lines delivering portions per menus.
• Fill food carts and deliver foods to designated areas.
• Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine.
• Sweep, mop and clean kitchen.
• May act as cashier.
