Job summary

Bethel School District is seeking a part-time Child Nutrition Helper to assist with meal setup, serving, and clean-up in the school cafeteria. The role supports food preparation, portions, and display to students and staff, ensuring safe handling and sanitation throughout meals.

Shifts vary: 2.5 hours per day for 170 days per year, 4 hours on 2 days per year, and 8 hours on 1 day per year. Fingerprinting and a Washington state food handler's permit are required.

Qualifications

• Education/experience required; food service experience desirable.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain sanitation standards.
• Must pass fingerprinting/background check and Washington state food handler's permit.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of various food items.
• Sets up serving carts and warming ovens for serving meals.
• Fills condiment containers; sets up utensils, napkins, trays and other serving items.
• Serves meals to students and staff; presents food attractively; assists students in assembling meals on trays.
• Cleans serving and meal areas; refills containers and serving items.
• Assists in placing food in serving carts and ovens according to proper food handling procedures.
• Cleans carts, tables and other food serving areas after meal periods; stores equipment.
