Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking a part-time Custodial staff member to follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming learning environment for students and staff. You will plan daily cleaning schedules, open and secure facilities, maintain supplies, operate basic cleaning machinery, and cooperate with administrators and public.

No prior experience required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and ability to work with school personnel.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safety practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan work schedule according to direction of building administration.
• Maintain preventive cleaning and safety routines for students and staff.
• Open and close the building daily and safeguard facilities.
• Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, windows, restrooms.
• Keep grounds and sidewalks neat and clean.
• Report safety hazards and manage cleaning supplies inventory.
• Move furniture as directed and assist with setup as needed.
• Follow all safety codes and standards.
