Job summary

Caledonia Community School District is seeking a Custodian (Part-Time) on the 2nd shift to maintain district facilities. Location is District Wide with reporting to the Operations Supervisor and a 28.75-hour weekly schedule.

Starting date is immediate and compensation is $17.83 per hour, with employer-paid sick, personal days, and holidays. The role emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and positive interactions with students and staff, including setup for events and basic floor care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in custodial work preferred but not required.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers; wash windows.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; use as directed.
• May set up and tear down facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• May strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Responsible for grounds cleanup and snow removal as necessary.
• Helps to maintain building and door security.
• Create positive relationships with students, staff, and all building stakeholders.
