Job summary

Velarde Elementary is seeking a part-time Custodian to provide a clean, safe, and well-maintained learning environment across various sites in the district. The role runs 5 hours daily on a 203-day, 4-day week schedule, reporting to the Principal/Maintenance Manager and following the approved salary schedule.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, custodial experience, and the ability to operate standard cleaning equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of performing all essential job functions.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and cleaning machinery safely.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide students, staff, and visitors with a safe, clean, sanitary, attractive, comfortable, and well-maintained learning environment by performing routine custodial services.
• Support building operations and assist with facility readiness for daily school activities and district events.
