The City of Moline is seeking regular and alternate School Crossing Guards to direct traffic and assist children during school commute times. Positions involve supervising crossing areas, ensuring safety for students, and coordinating with the Traffic Police Sergeant.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a Illinois driver’s license for lead roles; candidates must be reliable and able to work with children in outdoor conditions. Seasonal/regular positions with on-site duties.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of Illinois traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively with children; react quickly to oncoming traffic; follow oral and written instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Direct traffic in conjunction with the safe movement of children to and from school during opening, recess, and closing hours.
• Control crossing pedestrians and vehicles to allow safe passage for children.
• Wear reflective safety vest and use a hand-held stop sign for high visibility.
• Report flagrant traffic violators to police department.
• Report children who fail to cooperate to school officials.
• Other duties may be assigned.
