Job summary

Somerton Elementary School District 11 Transportation is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard to support student safety in and around Somerton, AZ. The role involves assisting students on and off the bus, supervising behavior, and guiding crossing with proper signaling and adherence to traffic rules.

The position is 3 hours per day as part of the 9-month calendar, starting immediately. CPR/First Aid and a fingerprint clearance card are required, with a starting hourly wage of $15.15.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess CPR and First Aid certification.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring.
• Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to students to get on and off the bus.
• Ensures that seat belts and other safety restraining devices are in use and securely fastened.
• Moves school crossing signs into and out of street and assists children crossing street.
• Monitors student behavior and maintains order on buses and at crossings.
• Reports problems with students or traffic and prepares reports of violations and incidents.
