Job summary

Roosevelt City is seeking a Crossing Guard to help keep children safe on their way to and from school. The role involves standing at assigned intersections, stopping traffic with signs, and guiding students across safely.

Work follows the school calendar, typically 8–10 hours per week, Monday to Friday; shift times include morning and afternoon blocks. A valid Utah driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and available on school days.
• Valid Utah driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong sense of responsibility for children's safety.
• Good physical condition, vision and hearing.

Responsibilities

• Safely stop traffic using signs and equipment.
• Monitor and assist school-age children in crossing intersections.
• Arrive 45 minutes before school starts and stay 15–30 minutes after.
• Maintain awareness of traffic and adjust crossing patterns for safety.
• Instruct drivers and pedestrians on safe crossing practices when needed.
• Interact professionally with students, parents, school staff and the public.
• Serve as a positive role model for safe pedestrian behavior.
