Qualifications

• Valid certification or licensure as a School Counsellor in the applicable state.
• Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and counseling techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioural concerns.
• Conduct assessments to identify students who may benefit from counseling.
• Develop and implement strategies for social-emotional learning and coping skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Assist with crisis intervention and provide referrals to community resources.
• Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary meetings as required.
• Maintain confidential student records in line with policies.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Promote a positive, inclusive school environment.
