Job summary

Peaks Mill Elementary in Frankfort, KY is seeking a part-time Child Care Aide to support the school’s child care program. This position covers 3 hours per day, over 250 contracted days each year, with pay at $15 per hour.

Under the supervision of the Child Care Program Director, you will monitor groups of children, assist with daily activities, help organize materials, and communicate with families. Kentucky state law requires background checks for employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certificate, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Experience working with children in an organized setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitors children in small or large groups to ensure their safety.
• Follows procedures to safeguard the health and safety of children.
• Assists the director in planning various activities for the children.
• Assists with organizing materials.
• Promotes positive parent and child interactions and activities.
• Participate in staff activities and in special training programs.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
