Job summary

Roosevelt School District 66 is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Custodian at Percy L. Julian School to support breakfast and lunch service and ensure the cleanliness of cafeteria and kitchen areas.

The role includes assisting with loading and unloading deliveries and transporting supplies while following health and safety standards. Responsibilities cover setting up meal areas, sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing surfaces, disposing of waste, and aiding kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Good reading and comprehension of schedules and instructions.
• Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables and dining areas for breakfast and lunch.
• Sweep and mop cafeteria floors during service periods.
• Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs and trash cans.
• Spot clean spills to prevent accidents.
• Dispose of rubbish per health department standards.
• Collect and dispose of breakfast trash from classrooms.
• Assist with loading and unloading food deliveries and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and kitchen during meals.
• Keep custodial supplies and chemicals properly stored.
• Follow safe work practices in all tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Unit Manager.
