Job summary

Kings Valley Charter School is hiring a School Cafeteria Support person to assist with the daily lunch program and support the kitchen team. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming lunch environment for students and helping with daily tasks.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with children, are flexible to cover shifts, and work cooperatively with staff. This is a part-time, school-day schedule in a bustling cafeteria setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is expected.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently when needed.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor students during the lunch period to maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment.
• Assist with cafeteria and kitchen tasks as directed by kitchen staff or school administration.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and other kitchen equipment.
• Help with basic food service and cafeteria preparation as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafeteria and kitchen areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with daily cleanup and other routine duties.
• Serve as a substitute/fill-in for other kitchen staff when absent.
• Follow all school, food safety, sanitation, and health procedures.
• Interact with students and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
