Job summary

The Rome City School District is seeking a Food Service Helper for Strough Middle School. This is a 10-month role, working 3.75 hours per day from 9:45 am to 1:30 pm in the school cafeteria.

The position involves assisting in food preparation and service and cleaning kitchen areas; training for cook duties may occur as a temporary assignment. Some food service and customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; some restaurant/hospitality experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sets tables and clears them from meals.
• Cleans dining rooms and dish and linen closets.
• Cleans, washes and prepares vegetables and fruits for cooking.
• Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts.
• Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine.
• Sweeps, mops and cleans the kitchen.
• May act as a cashier.
