Job summary

The Learning Lamp and Ignite Education Solutions seek a part-time Cafeteria Aide to work with students in the Central Cambria School District. You will monitor student behavior during meal service, assist with cafeteria cleanliness, and support the flow of meal service.

Hours are based on school district schedules. The role offers a starting pay of $12.00 per hour, with benefits including PTO, longevity bonuses, a 403(b) option, discounts, tuition assistance, and dental insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time.
• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Responsibilities

• Manage students during meal service (behavior problems should be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by each school site)
• Communicate with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills
• Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten, assisting students who need help
• Assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/lunch rooms
• Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time
• Encourage good table manners
• Other duties as assigned
