Job summary

Upper Arlington City Schools is seeking a Transportation Aide to support safe student transport. The role covers assisting students onto buses, securing wheelchairs and restraints, and managing behavior as needed.

The position is regular/part-time with shifts from 6:30–8:30 a.m. and 2:15–4:15 p.m., reporting to the Director of Transportation. A HS diploma or GED and basic first aid knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than one year related experience.
• Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent or Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive control over students on the bus.
• Observe mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Report violations to proper authorities as prescribed.
• Notify the supervisor in case of illness to secure a substitute.
• Promote personal appearance and public relations with the bus and riders.
• Maintain confidentiality of information such as student records.
• Interact positively with staff, students and parents.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Serve as a role model for students.
• Report accidents and complete required reports; enforce Board policies.
