Qualifications

• Medical clearance: pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical examiner's certificate.
• Screenings: pass background check, fingerprinting, 5-year MVR, and random drug/alcohol screenings.
• Experience: prior commercial driving or experience with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely operate a school bus on prescribed routes, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops on a strict schedule.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical deficiencies.
• Post-Trip Sweeps: Check the bus after every route to ensure no child or personal belonging is left behind.
• Student Management: Maintain order, safety, and discipline among student passengers per school policies.
• Logistics & Admin: Maintain mileage logs, rider counts, and incident reports.
• Cleanliness: Keep the interior of the bus clean, sanitized, and presentable.
