Job summary

STA is seeking a part-time School Bus Driver in Washington, CT. No prior bus driving experience is required, as we provide paid training and support to become a safe, confident professional driver.

You will transport students to and from school along an established route, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain a clean, professional bus while following all safety procedures. This role offers flexible hours and a chance to positively impact your community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 5 years of verifiable driving history.
• Clean driving record within the last 24–36 months.
• Must obtain CDL with required school bus and passenger endorsements.
• Must successfully complete our comprehensive paid training program.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment background checks and other applicable screening requirements.
• Commitment to safety and responsibility when transporting students.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along an established route.
• Pick up and drop off student passengers at designated bus stops.
• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow all school bus safety and bus stop safety procedures.
• Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean and professional bus.
• Provide a safe, respectful, and positive environment for students.
• Participate in field trips, activity trips, and charter runs as requested or desired.
