First Student is hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers in Waterford, CT. Start mornings with student pickup and return trips in the afternoon, with field trips possible. No experience required; we provide expert training to help you become a safe, professional driver.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with summers off.
• English proficiency required for DOT and safety communications.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and pre/post-trip activities; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus and ensure safety standards are met.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of brakes, lights, tires, and emergency exits.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or student behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service during routes.
