First Student in New Haven, CT is hiring a Part Time School Bus Driver. You will transport students to and from school and activities, with opportunities for field trips and events. The role emphasizes safety, supervision, and customer service in a flexible, part-time schedule.

Training is provided, and drivers have opportunities for advancement across 540 locations in the U.S. & Canada, with comprehensive benefits and an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM age 21 and valid Class B license is required.
• Part-time schedule with split AM/PM routes and weekdays only.
• Must meet DOT safety and driving regulations as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
