Job summary

First Student Inc. in Lafayette, NJ is seeking a Part-Time School Bus Driver to start mornings with student pickups and transport them home after school. Additional hours may be available for field trips and events. No previous driving experience is necessary as we provide training.

This role offers a part-time schedule with guaranteed minimum hours, a range of benefits, and opportunities for advancement across 540 locations. The position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT drug testing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• No experience required to become a school bus driver.
• DOT drug testing applies as a safety-sensitive employee.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.

Skills

Valid Class B License

Ride-share / taxi driving experience

Customer service experience
