Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Obey all mandatory safety regulations for school buses, all traffic laws, and report in writing any accidents or moving violations.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report student disciplinary issues according to prescribed procedures.
• Conduct post-trip inspections for minor damage and cleanliness.
• Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects according to the daily inspection checklist.
• Notify the Director immediately of safety malfunctions and file reports of mechanical failures or maintenance needs.
• Enforce District safety regulations.
• Maintain assigned schedule and follow safe travel routes.
• Maintain records for bus operation including fuel consumption.
• Assist in notifying parents about conduct concerns, route schedules, or route changes.
• Exercise leadership on out-of-district trips.
• Maintain knowledge of developments in all areas of responsibility.
