Job summary

D'iberville High School is seeking a School Bus Driver for a 4-hour daily route to transport students safely, observe all traffic laws, and maintain orderly behavior on the bus.

The position requires a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass required training, background checks, and a drug screen; reports to the Building Principal and Transportation Director on a 182-day schedule.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and child abuse registry required.
• A satisfactory employment record.
• Ability to demonstrate and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Currently possess or willing to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver License with the “P” (passenger) endorsement.
• Must be able to pass all required training and have a satisfactory driving record in the past three years.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Maintains discipline on the school bus without compromising safety.
• Completes all reports on bus discipline and maintenance as required by the school board.
• Performs a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the school bus.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and hazards immediately.
